Use easy words and short

Use big writing - we like 20 font.
Use clear writing - like this.
This is simple font. Use a font like Arial or Comic Sans.
Do not use italics or fonts like Times New Roman.
Do not write everything in CAPITAL LETTERS.
Use capital letters and small letters.
Not everyone understands symbols.
Pictures and photos are better.
Find out if people use British Sign Language - it maybe their
first language.
Many deaf people with learning difficulties do not know British
Sign Language, they use Makaton.
Make a tape of the words in easy English. Think about making a
video like this one or CD to get your message across.
Most important of all - ask disabled people what they think.
Do not think that everyone with impairments needs the same
thing. Everyone's access needs are different.
